Formation of acetaldehydenext term via photocarbonylation of methane with CO

Description:

This is a possible reaction path and method for methane + CO to acetaldehyde.  The yield was very small, but it was carried out at or very close to STP.  This reaction is thermo-favorable at ~4000 atm, but the use of UV light appears to have potential for lowering the severity of conditions.
