We are the professionals, one of 12 thesis writing company teams in the chemical engineering process design course (ECH4644) at the University of Florida this spring. Our eclectic group includes six talented chemical engineering students: Luis Bonilla, Shmarcos Broughton, Craig Mansfield, Justin Nicolosi, David Scott, and Michael Thomas. We have been tasked with fully designing two independent processes for producing acetaldehyde, an important industrial intermediate chemical. While one of the two designs is required to follow the Eastman Chemical Process reaction scheme, we have explored other promising candidate processes with alternative starting materials. We are well on our way to example of a research paper outline getting it done.
